The Functional Human Movement is a course developed by Jay Flitter an extremely experienced physiotherapist and Spinal Manipulation Tutor, Ideally for therapists who already have a grounding in outpatients/MSK therapy and want to focus their attention on more advanced rehabilitation skills. Ideally you will already have started to experiment & look beyond linear movement patterns and begun to advance your own rehabilitation skills or released you wish to learn more and why you are reading this.
The course is designed to provide a comprehensive overview of the different functional rehabilitation strategies that improve human movement and that can be utilised to restore pain free function to a range of individuals from the sedentary to professional athlete.
The first part of the course covers all aspects of training an athlete from injury to full return to sport using functional training strategies incorporating functional strength & conditioning programmes, utilising training strategies for hypertrophy, maximal strength, endurance and power. There is a special emphasis in the application of plyometric training to the injured athlete for full return to function. This grounding is a vital part of effective rehabilitation.
The second part of the course focuses on training optimum motion control and load transfer during function. The £D movement patterns taught will be insightful, thought provoking and will challenge the inherent understanding of movement training for the participant. The emphasis is on learning how to move through body movement:

- 3-D spinal strength rehabilitation
- Stabiity of the lower limb essential for runners, golfers and many other sports
- How does dynamic stretching improve function and how apply in an injured individual.
- What is the role of the gluts in function and how do we retrain them.
- Why the foot, hip and thoracic spine are so important for function, how to assess for dysfunction and how to correct for effortless function.
This is a highly practical course, come prepared to exercise and learn.
