This day course has been developed specifically for therapists who want to improve their knowledge and understanding of the principles of strength & conditioning. It will deliver the tools you need to confidently prescribe post care exercise to your patients.
You tutor, Alex Poole, has a wealth of knowledge and practical experience in strength and conditioning programs for athletes and rehabilitation patients post injury and pre/post operative. 
By the end of the workshop you should have a far greater understanding of how to deliver scientifically sound programmes to your patients.





Course Outline

Establish a good understanding of the basic principles in exercise prescription.

To understand how to:

  • Select the correct training goal and exercise movement patterns
  • Select the correct intensity and loading parameters
  • Select the correct reps and time under tension to meet intensity and training goals
  • Select the correct sets and volume of work to be carried out
  • Select appropriate rest periods
  • Establish a basic understanding of muscle mechanics, progressive overload and specific adaptations to an exercise stimulus and introduce the principles periodisation
  • To understand how these basic principles relate to mid/end stage rehabilitation and the continued improvement of the patient
