This is a highly specialised course developed by Rhian Witham who heads the shoulder physiotherapy team for North Bristol NHS and works as an ESP for a specialist shoulder surgeon. She has a masters in manipulation and is a member of BESS. She also teaches on the highly successful Shoulder Assessment & Treatment day course "Pulling it all together"
This course reflects her personal experience in assessing and treating both basic and complex pathology, backed up by useful research which has informed her practice and focuses on the specialist area of shoulder Instability.
If you treat shoulder's on a regular basis this course is a must and will help your differential diagnosis, understanding of when to refer on and how to treat highly complex unstable shoulders that require conservative management.
Course Aims:
To establish a good understanding of stability and instability of the shoulder
To understand the current classification system for shoulder instability
To understand the assessment of the unstable shoulder – subjective and objective
To understand the role of the Orthopaedic Shoulder Surgeon in shoulder instability
To establish a problem solving approach to rehabilitation of the unstable shoulder.
