Foot/Ankle Bio-Mechanics and Gait Analysis
16th Sept 2018 9am-4:30pm Bristol BRI Outpatients
Lecturer: Martin Bell BSc. (Hons)
ESP Orthotist, Specialist in Biomechanics NSCP MSK team
Director of www.THEWORKS.clinic FOOTWORKS Orthotics & KNEEWORKS Bracing
This day course is designed for physiotherapists and other interested professionals who want to improve their understanding of lower limb biomechanics, relate the evidence of video gait analysis to allow studied appraisal of the low and high gear propulsive functionality of the lower kinetic chain.
We will also examine the recent changes in foot assessment and the treatment of the lower-limb.
Particular emphasis will be paid to the bio-mechanical impact of joint instability and the effect of poor muscular control. Several video case studies will be presented to aid and encourage open discussion.
Appraise the significant key foot profiles responsible for a wide range of postural abnormalities and understand how each foot pathology creates an easily recognisable bio-mechanical deficit.
Participate in the practical workshops, assessing the gait and posture of your colleagues, proposing treatment alternatives to restore optimal bio-mechanical gait and restore the dynamic control of the lower kinetic chain.
Understand the benefit of appropriate orthotic prescription and the high importance of multi-disciplinary team-working to enable the optimal rehabilitation of your patient.
Course notes, attendance certificate and CPD reflection paperwork will all be included on the day.
Light refreshments on the day, lunch not included keeping the course cost down for you.
